American College of Culinary & Language Arts (ACCLA) recently organised a hygiene and nutrition workshop at Stepping Stones Shelter in Margao which houses needy children, mostly from migrant families, who aren’t able to afford basic necessities.
As part of its community outreach activities, students and faculty of ACCLA explained the importance of proper hygiene and nutrition and basic hygiene techniques. The faculty and chefs at ACCLA spread awareness about the nutritional quotients present in fresh, local produce and the importance of its consumption to the body. The idea was to bring awareness among the young and inculcate healthy habits in them. The activity concluded with the distribution of fresh healthy fruits and local produce to all the children at the shelter.
