HiLITE Mall Hosts Science Fest, drawing enthusiastic children to celebrate the wonderful world of science. The fest, which commenced on October 18, offers young participants a hands-on experience to learn about the inner workings of devices and cars by integrating various technologies, including robotics and sensors. The event also aims to open up the wonderful world of knowledge by demystifying the complex concepts. Children can learn about sensors such as laser sensor, ultrasonic distance sensor, sound distraction sensor, touch and sound sensor, infrared sensor and water detection sensor. The fest also features practical elements like LED lights, various motors, breadboards, batteries, and jumpers, allowing participants to know the foundational building blocks of modern technology. The event serves as an interactive platform for learning and peer engagement.
The event, which is completely free of charge, saw a lot of participation from children over the past two days. More than 300 children attended the fest stalls, participated in the workshop and made tech greeting cards. The best performing children were awarded a doodling book and all the participants were given certificates.
Students from schools like AMUP School Kampiliparamba , Bee Line Public School, Kuttikattur,The Horizon School, East Vazhayur, CIR HSS, Mathara, Hidaya EM School, Palazhi, Little Buddy International Pre School, Konthanary, Nest Public School, Ramanattukara, Blooming Buds Montessori Play School, Velliparamba, Little Hearts Kindergarten and Grade School, Nadakkavu will participate in the Science Fest on various days.
The Science Fest, organized in collaboration with edutainment company MakerMasti, will run until October 26, with viewing hours from 10 am to 10 pm on weekdays and 1 pm to 8 pm on weekends.
Various stalls have been set up for children to experience activities such as cars powered by sensors, an opportunity to make cars using motors, batteries and plastic gears, robots powered by various sensors, remote control cars, an opportunity to play cricket using meta shots, and a workshop for making digital greeting cards.
