

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
The 19th edition of the Metro Food Awards was held in Thiruvananthapuram as part of the World Food Day celebrations, jointly organized by Metro Mart in association with the Thiruvananthapuram Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the South Kerala Hoteliers Forum.
The event was inaugurated by Kadakampally Surendran, MLA, and presided over by S. N. Raghuchandran Nair, President of the Thiruvananthapuram Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Kadakampally Surendran, MLA, and Dr. Lakshmi Nair presented the awards. Siji Nair, Managing Director of Metro Mart, delivered the welcome address.
The Metro Food Awards are organized annually to recognize and honor the finest restaurants that serve delicious, hygienic, and high-quality food.
The winners were selected through a comprehensive evaluation process that considered culinary excellence, hygiene standards, customer feedback, and inspections by a panel of industry leaders and culinary experts, along with mystery shopping assessments. This year, winners were chosen from over 300 applications received from across Kerala’s hospitality sector.
The function was graced by Celebrity Chef Dr. Lakshmi Nair, Cherian Philip (Former Chairman, KTDC), M. Khalid (Chairman & Managing Director, SLK Food Processing – Happy), Kottukal Krishnakumar (General Secretary, Kerala Tourism Development Association), Prasad Manjali (Chairman, MFA Award Jury Committee), Suresh Mathew Nilamel (Vice President, Thiruvananthapuram Chamber of Commerce and Industry), Sisupalan Sagara (Vice President, South Kerala Hoteliers Forum), and Pankaj Senan (Patron, South Kerala Hoteliers Forum).
