Godrej & Boyce, the flagship company of the Godrej Group, announced that its business Godrej Appliances recently concluded a two week e-waste collection drive in Rajasthan, in association with Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board and Global Waste Solution to raise e-waste awareness.
As part of the drive, e-waste was collected from industrial units, residential areas, RWAs, commercial markets and informal hot-spots, and channelized to authorized recyclers and dismantlers. Of the 232 MT (232,000 kg) of e- waste collected from six cities, 38.5 MT (38,500 kg) of e-waste was collected from more than 150 residential complexes, raising awareness amongst public.
Over the years, Godrej Appliances has introduced multiple programs under the banner of India Vs E-Waste movement covering different cities with the intention to create awareness amongst citizens about the importance of appropriate e-waste disposal. Last year, a total of 15,600 MT (over fifteen million kilograms) of e-waste was collected by Godrej Appliances and this year the target is to collect 20,000 MT (twenty million kilograms) of e-waste.
To facilitate E-waste collection, the brand has in place a 24×7 toll-free number 1800 209 5511. Consumers can easily schedule a pickup by calling the toll-free number.

The emphasis on sustainability is not limited to e-waste drives and awareness campaigns, but also evident in our eco-friendly products and green manufacturing processes.”
Adding to this, Anand Mohan, Member Secretary, Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board said, “We are thankful to Godrej Appliances for participating in e-waste collection drive in Rajasthan and creating awareness among the masses for environmentally sound disposal of e-waste. This e-waste collection drive received overwhelming response of citizens, and more than one crore rupees has been distributed by the recycling agencies among them as best value for their e-waste. I believe this support will be continued for upcoming phases too.”
Further, Manish Agarwal – Director at Global Waste Solution, said “The drive for the awareness about management of e-waste, run jointly by Global Waste Solution, different Regional Offices of Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board and Godrej Appliances has been successful.
