  • Minister P Rajeeve Launches Social Media Pages, YouTube Channel of Industries & Commerce Department

    THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
    Minister for Law, Industries & Coir P Rajeeve today launched the Facebook and Instagram pages as well as the YouTube channel of the Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Kerala, further strengthening the State’s business ecosystem and enhancing the Government-entrepreneur interface.

    “Seamless communication between the state facilitators and entrepreneurs is a key component of a robust industrial eco system. Launch of social media pages of the Department of Industries and Commerce comes as the latest in a series of measures initiated by the State Government to turn Kerala into an attractive investment destination”, Rajeeve said on the occasion.

    Dr. K. Ellangovan, Principal Secretary (Industries); S. Harikishore, Director of Industries & Commerce; Suraj S, CEO, Kerala Bureau of Industrial Promotion (KBIP); Santhosh Koshy Thomas, Managing Director, KINFRA; K. Sudhir, Additional Director of Industries & Commerce and Pradeep Kumar, Director of Handlooms & Textiles were present at the function.

    Named ‘industrieskerala’, the Facebook and Instagram pages and the YouTube channel seek to create awareness among the investors and entrepreneurs regarding various services, schemes and support mechanisms implemented by the Department of Industries & Commerce.

    The Department of Industries& Commerce has initiated numerous measures for strengthening the business ecosystem of Kerala. Creating awareness among the public regarding the services, schemes and various support mechanisms put in place by the Government is a crucial component in building a healthy economy.

    The social media pages will serve as the basic source of information for aspiring young and budding minds of Kerala to choose entrepreneurship as a career path. Creating awareness against the misconception that entrepreneurship is complicated by providing guiding and motivating tips on how to become successful entrepreneurs is a major objective of these social media pages.

    The Department of Industries & Commerce under the stewardship of Shri Rajeeve has set ambitious targets for Kerala’s industrial status, despite the challenges caused by the staggered Covid-19 pandemic.

    Apart from providing Covid relief packages to the entrepreneurs, the state has also taken a string of measures to improve the business environment and Ease of Doing Business ranking of Kerala.
