KOCHI:
Heal (Health, Environment, Agriculture, Livelihood) Kochi concept will be implemented with the aim of making the city greener and more environmentally friendly, said M. Anilkumar, Kochi Mayor. The aim is to treat Kochi in all sense. The mayor said he would ensure public participation in projects, including road maintenance. He was addressing a reception organized by the IMA Kochi Branch.
The mayor offered all possible assistance to the IMA’s solid waste treatment project and the Green Kochi Mission. A sympathetic stance will be taken on issues including land availability for the waste management project. Sustainable projects are needed in waste management, only such projects will be implemented, he said. Awareness against food waste is also essential. The mayor said that sincere efforts will be made to solve the problems in Kochi city and that he has no personal or political agenda.
Two types of waste bins will be set up at public places. A coordination meeting of all departments will be convened under the chairmanship of the Collector and the Mayor to address the deplorable condition of the roads in the city. He said the Smart City Mission has asked to repair all roads in the city by the end of next month.
