  • Muthoot Microfin Celebrates Women’s Day with ‘Bliss’

    KOCHI:
    Muthoot Microfin Ltd. (MML), a part of Muthoot Pappachan Group (MPG), a diversified conglomerate in the financial services industry (popularly known as Muthoot Blue), today celebrated the International Women’s Day through their initiative ‘Bliss’.

    Under this initiative, a ‘day out’ was organized for the 37 differentially abled women – aged between 25 and 60 years – of Palluruthy Relief Settlement, Kochi that included a metro rail ride, Lulu Mall visit and a movie at the PVR in Lulu. 20 employees of Muthoot Microfin volunteered for this initiative and accompanied the women for the entire day.

    The ‘day out’ concluded with a closing ceremony at Bolgatty Palace that consisted of cultural programs performed by Muthoot Microfin employees.

    Speaking about this initiative, Thomas Muthoot, Managing Director, Muthoot Microfin Ltd. said, “It is delightful to see the smiles that our initiative ‘Bliss’ has managed to bring to the faces of the women residents of Palluruthy Relief Settlement. We applaud the spirit of these strong women who, in spite of their unfortunate circumstances, are moving ahead in their life with zeal and enthusiasm. We would like to commend all the employees of our company who volunteered for this initiative and worked tirelessly to make this a success. Their hardwork and commitment has always been an integral part of our work that aims to empower the common man at every stage of his/her life.

    “Women empowerment has been our continued focus and around 50% of workforce in Muthoot Fincorp are women. In addition to this, Muthoot Microfin caters to a customer base of around 2 million which is all women along with facilitating entrepreneurship development and harnessing entrepreneurship skills through workshops and financial literacy classes. This initiative is a small token of our appreciation and respect to all the women across the world.”
