‘SpaceUP’ is an open attendance space exploration unconference where participants decide topics, schedule and structure of the event. In a SpaceUP event, there are no spectators, only participants. It is a 21st century global approach to space outreach. An ‘unconference’ is a loosely structured conference that mainly focuses on the informal exchange of information and ideas between participants, unlike usual conferences. The first SpaceUP event was held at the San Diego Air & space museum in 2010, as a 2-day event. In India, the first SpaceUP event was held in Bengaluru in 2012.
