Kerala Blasters FC announces the 34-year-old centre-forward, Bartholomew Ogbeche from Ogoja as the captain of the KBFC squad for the 6th edition of the Indian Super League.
Ogbeche, an experienced professional footballer debuted his football career with the main squad of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) FC at the age of 17 and then went on to play for clubs like Real Valladolid in Laliga and Middlesbrough in The Championship, before debuting in Indian Football for North East United FC in 2018. He has previously played for various football clubs across France, Spain, England, Netherlands, Greece and the UAE. He has also represented the Nigerian national team between 2002 and 2005 and has participated in the World Cup that was held in South Korea in 2002.
“As a proven and experienced player, I’m sure that Bartholomew Ogbeche can lead the team effectively and as the culture of India goes, he is also the eldest in the team. His extensive knowledge, acumen and relationship with the players can positively contribute to getting a step closer to the objectives of the club.
