“Stay true to your cause against all kinds of challenges posed by vast oceans in the face of external temptations”, advised Paul Antony, former Chief Secretary and former Chairman of Cochin Port Trust, citing the recent example of the Indian captain of the Iranian ship seized by the British, who rejected the huge bribe offered to him.
He was delivering the inaugural address at the passing out ceremony of 12 th batch of B.Tech and 4 th batch of M.Tech Marine Engineering students of CUSAT’s Kunjali Marakkar School of Marine Engineering(KMSME) in the Thrikkakara campus. Vice Chancellor Dr. K.N Madhusoodanan who presided over the ceremony appreciated the leadership of Dr. K.A Simon and team for acquainting the cadets with the latest Marine Engineering technology and moulding the students to become the proponents of green technology and making the KMSME number one among similar institutions in the country.
The Vice Chancellor honoured Ameen Abdulla and Rahul R, the best outgoing cadets. Dr. K.N Madhusoodanan also handed over certificates to five M.Tech graduates and 68 outgoing B.Tech students. Dr. P.G Sankaran, Pro- Vice Chancellor, Dr. K Ajitha, Registrar, and Dr. K.A Simon, Director of K M School of Marine Engineering spoke.
