Top representatives of the startup sector from 12 states of the country visited Maker Village in this city and hailed its facilities as world-class.
Senior bureaucrat Shruti Singh, who is director of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade functioning under the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry, said the Maker Village, as India’s largest electronic hardware incubator, has been a model in the electronic hardware sector.
“The facilities here are of global standards,” noted Singh on Tuesday evening, after leading the delegates on a round of exhibits at the Maker Village’s premises Kalamassery, north of Kochi. “The Maker Village is an exemplary endeavour for the whole nation, going by the innovative quality of its products besides design and execution.”
Maker Village CEO Prasad Balakrishnan Nair gave an introduction about the activities of the incubator. Kerala Startup Mission CEO Dr Saji Gopinath also briefed the delegates about the Maker Village. The delegation spent a couple of hours at the Maker Village, learning about the products that were displayed at an exhibition.
