Kottayam: Former Finance Minister K M Mani was
questioned by the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau for
three hours in a case related to giving undue tax
concessions to ‘Super Pigment’, a company producing lead
powder which is used in batteries.
Mani had been given a list questions about the illegal deal
before he was called for the questioning. Mani has,
reportedly, denied the allegations.
It is for the first time in Mani’s politcal life that he is being
grilled by a wing of the Kerala Police for long hours.
Mani is also facing a similar case for giving tax concessions
to certain people trading in chicken. His petition before the
Kerala High Court to quash the FIR in the tax concessions
given to poultry farmers has been postponed for hearing.
