KOCHI:
A memorandum of understanding(MoU) to promote mutual co-operation in technology, engineering and health, safety and environment(HSE) and Fire engineering has been signed between Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd(BPCL) and Cochin University of Science and Technology.
The MoU will provide a formal basis to promote scientific and research co-operation in mutually beneficial areas between departments of CUSAT including Division of Safety & Fire Engineering, School of Engineering and BPCL. The MoU was signed by Dr. K Ajitha, Registrar of CUSAT and Prasad K Panicker, Executive Director of BPCL-Kochi Refinery in the presence of Prof. K N Madhusoodanan, Vice Chancellor and Prof. P G Sankaran, Pro-Vice Chancellor of CUSAT. Jayesh Shah, Ex ecutive Director(HR), BPCL -Kochi Refinery, Arunkumar Das, General Manager, BPCL-Mumbai Refinery and Chandrasekhar N, General Manager, BPCL-Kochi Refinery represented BPCL at the function. Dr.M.R.R. Panicker, Principal, School of Engineering, P PVinodkumar, Director, IRAA, M Jayasankar, Director, Public Relations and Publications, Prof. G Madhu, Head, Division of Safety & Fire Engineering, Prof. D K Sahoo and Prof. V R Renjith attended the function. The Executive Director said that there is large potential for collaboration between BPCL and CUSAT in view of the diversification of BPCL into the Petrochemical field.
