Amway India, the country’s leading FMCG direct selling company, handed over the newly-restored schools to the authorities of the schools that were damaged during the floods in Kerala.
The school restoration project focused at repairing and renovating of the school premises to provide a safe, clean and positive learning environment. As a part of the company’s pledge to support the relief, rehabilitation, and restoration efforts in the flood-affected areas in Kerala, Amway had identified the beneficiary schools and undertaken the responsibility of rebuilding them with support from its NGO partner – Plan India.
The project is expected to benefit over 3000 students and faculty members of the beneficiary schools located in Ernakulam district, namely ESNM LP School, Kottuvallikkadu, VCS HSS Puthenvellikkara, and GHSS North Paravoor.
Snehil Kumar Singh, Sub Collector, Ernakulam District and the Deputy Collector, Disaster Management – Sheela Devi graced the handing over ceremony of the restored school held at GHSS North Paravoor school. Also present at the event were the members of Amway India, Plan India, District administration and the school beneficiaries.
