A final year M.Sc Physics student from Cochin University of Science and Technology, Sarath Prem, has been selected to participate in the 69 th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings to be held at Lindau, Germany during 30 June–5 July 2019.
Each year since 1951, Nobel Prize winners in Chemistry, Physics, Physiology or Medicine have been meeting in Lindau, Germany, to have discussions with around 600 students from all over the world. The participants include graduates, Ph.D. students, and post-doc researchers. The 69 th Lindau Meeting will be dedicated to Physics, and the key topics will be Cosmology, Laser Physics, and Gravitational Physics. This year, about 580 students from 88 countries are expected to participate in the meeting, along with 41 confirmed Nobel Laureates.
From India, DST (Department of Science and Technology) has been sending students and researchers to these meetings since 2001. Sarath Prem was selected to participate in the meeting on the basis of his excellence in studies. Sarath hails from Kollam and is the son of Dr. B. Premlet, retired professor of Physics (T.K.M. Engineering College, Kollam) and Dr. Kavitha M.K.
