Kottayam: Kerala Congress (M) which is cosying upto CPM in its political manoeuvre to save leader K M Mani, has come out openly against CPI, a major partner of the ruling Left Democratic Front in Kerala.
Party leader K M Mani told the media in Pala that his party was strong enough to stand alone and that parties like CPI need not bother about its political moves.
Mani was referring to the objections raised by CPI against taking Kerala Congress into the LDF camp. The state executive of CPI had pooh-poohed the suggestion by CPM state secreatry Kodiyeri Balakrishnan that issue-based support could be extended to Kerala Congress.
Mani said that a tainted political party like CPI which had in the past traded its Parliament seat for money should not sermonise Kerala Congress.
