The Spices Board of India annual awards for the Top Most Exporter of Curry Powder/Spice Mix for the year 2014-15 have been awarded to Eastern Condiments Pvt. Ltd. The award were presented during the function held at Kochi by Suresh Prabhu, Union Minister for Commerce & Industry and Civil aviation.
Eastern Group Chairman Navas Meeran said, it’s a testimony for the acceptance of Eastern Products across the Globe and we are proud to represent India at the World Stage. Eastern Condiments, with its distinct taste and flavour, has been winning this award for the 18th consecutive year. Eastern Group Managing Director Firoz Meeran said we are proud to be at the forefront of food technology and high quality standards. He also welcomed the stringent quality measures taken by the Government in the food sector.

Hence, this award is an assurance to the confidence of consumers in Eastern Products” he affirmed. “We follow stringent quality checks at every stage and maintain international standards of quality in all areas. I believe our consistent approach towards ensuring high standards of quality is what continues to win us laurels.”
Navas Meeran said that Eastern has established a very modern and sophisticated laboratory which is NABL approved. “It is one of the leading such laboratories in the country. We’ve done this with an objective of being a global player in Spices, he added.
Five years ago, Eastern Curry Powder entered into a strategic alliance with the global spice giant McCormick to take Eastern to newer horizons. Eastern is a well-diversified Group with a combined turnover of over Rs.1000 crore. Eastern Condiments Pvt Ltd continues to be the flagship company of the thriving Group.
Focus on Quality: The Rs 1000 crore Eastern group’s long tradition of quality consciousness is validated by factories that are HACCP, ISO 22000, Kosher and Halal Certified. Enjoying a sizeable market share in the UK, US and UAE, all of Eastern’s spice consignments are tested by Spices Board (Govt. of India) before export.
In addition to this, Eastern Spices Laboratory at Adimaly was recently awarded the certificate of accreditation for chemical testing and biological testing by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL). Apart from the NABL certification, the company is also the first food sector business concern to go for the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) certification under ACERTA guidelines.
