Kollam: Kerala Police will register a bailable case against Kerala Congress(B) leader R Balakrishna Pillai under Section 153 A in the Indian Penal Code for the racist remarks he made against minority communities in a speech delivered at a meeting of the Hindu Nair community in Pathanapuram. An FIR will be registered on Thursday.
Kerala Police Chief has directed Superintendent of Police( Rural) in Kollam district to register a case against Pillai after seeking legal advice about the speech.
Pillai had made a controversial speech denigrating the members of non-Hindu communities at a meeting of the NSS Karayogam in Pathanapuram.
Pillai offered an unconditional apology follwing the release of the audio clip of his speech.
R Balakrishna Pillai and his son Ganesh Kumar run a local political party which has its roots in Kottarakkara in Kerala.
