Speaking at the valedictory session of the two day Logistics Conclave organised by CII, Kerala, P I Sheikh Pareeth, Director of Ports, Govt. of Kerala said that “Kerala is in for a massive development with respect of its port infrastructure and it is heartening that the centre has allotted Rs 1000 crore for the same this year”.

The two day Conclave turned out to be a tremendous successes in terms of partiipation and the quality of papers presented by experts in various aspects of logistics and supply chain management. The lively interactions helped the delegates to get updated and enlightened on the problems and prospects of this vital industry.
Inaugurating the Conclave, Kerala Transport Minister A K Saseendran also assured his government’s full support to set up state-of-the-art logistics hubs in the state. The sessions also assessed the viable usage of unconventional and alternative modes of transportation and highlighted the effective usage of waterways for cost-effective logistics and integrating the same with other modes of goods transportation. Further, development of the Logistics sector in Kerala promises tremendous business opportunities and creates greater avenues for employment within the state. The effective use of information technology and revolutionary changes that are taking place in digital world and e commerce for the healthy growth of the logistics industry were also duly discussed in the conclave.
“We take it as our responsibility to submit concrete proposals to government in this regard after conducting a scientific study on issues like traffic congestion, cost effective logistics. CII is seized of the need for a scientific, most modern and cost effective logistics system to the serve the manufacturing and trading community”. said N A Mohammedkutty, Chairman of CII Kerala’s logistics panel and Managing Director of Falcon Infrastructure Ltd, concluding the two day conference and exhibition.
