DUBAI:
Global Pravasi Association has sent a memorandum to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Education Minister Prof C Raveendranath in connection with the vast dismissal of teachers from Gulf countries in connection with the equivalent certificate.
Association president Salam Pappinisseri, secretary Eesa Anees, office-bearers Adv Rifayi Sakhafi, Benny Abraham, Aabida Abdul Gafoor and Deepak Kunnath have sent the memorandum. The majority of the teachers are from Kerala.
They pointed out that the Education Department gives approval only for those who have completed degree course from regular colleges. Several teachers who have registered in various Universities as private students were not given equivalent certificates.
Already 400 teachers lost their jobs. The others are facing dismissing and forced to return back. They urged the Government to immediately intervene in the matter.
