KOCHI:
24 Young student startup were formally incubated in Centre for Innovation Technology Transfer & Industrial Collaboration the official Technology Business Incubator of Cusat.
20 of them are setup by CUSAT students and 4 are from outside institutions including NIT and CET Trivandrum. The incubation certificates were presented by the Vice Chancellor Dr. J. Letha in a function presided over by Dr. N. Chandramohanakumar, Member, Syndicate. The incubated companies who won awards and recognition at various levels were presented mementos.
Vice Chancellor stressed the importance of developing an entrepreneurialculture in the campus. She said the life of a startup may be tough but highly rewarding. She congratulated all young students for taking up the path of entrepreneurship.
Dr. P. Abdulla, Director, CITTIC proposed the wecolme and Shibin, incybatee representative proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. Sam Thomas, Assistant Director presented the activities of CITTIC. CITTIC was set up in the campus with I crore funding from the Govt. of Kerala to provide a vibrant, innovative and entrepreneurial environment for faculty and students to run university connected start-up companies.
In addition to physical incubation, CITTIC provides mentoring and networking support to help students to realize their dream of converting innovative ideas to successful business. Regular training workshops, seminars and exhibitions are organized to create an ecosystem conductive to the growth of student entrepreneurs.
