As many as 570 students from CUSAT secured placement through campus selection this year, registering an increase of around 200 candidates compared to number of recruitees last year.
Overall, 105 recruiters selected candidates from CUSAT at an average annual salary of Rs. 4.94 Lakhs. The highest salary offered was Rs. 18 Lakhs. The major recruiters that selected CUSAT students include software companies like TCS, Infosys, IBM, CISCO, Amazon, Verizon and core companies such as L&T, Godrej, CEAT, Vedanta, ONGC, Reliance, Indraprastha gas etc.
This year witnessed increased internship offers for the pre-final year students. Major companies are offering internships and projects to students through the placement cell. According to Dr. James Varghese, Chief Placement Officer, CUSAT, the better placement this year is due to the better ranking achieved by the University. School of Engineering of CUSAT secured 54th position in the national level ranking by ‘The Week, bettering 25 positions compared to last year’s rank.
