Arunachal Pradesh”s COVID-19 tally soared to 27,272 on Tuesday as 322 more people tested positive for the infection, a senior health official said.
The state”s coronavirus death toll remained unchanged at 115 as no fresh COVID-19 fatality was reported in the last 24 hours, State Surveillance Officer Dr Lobsang Jampa said.
The Capital Complex region reported the highest number of fresh cases at 49, followed by West Kameng (37) and Changlang (29).
As many as 350 more people were cured of the disease on Monday, taking the total number of recoveries to 23,402.
The northeastern state now has 3,755 active cases.
The recovery rate among the coronavirus patients in the state stands at 85.81 per cent, Jampa said.
The Capital Complex region, comprising Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas, has the highest number of active cases at 661, followed by Tawang (433) and Changlang (431).
The state has so far tested over 5.85 lakh samples for COVID-19, including 5,552 on Monday. The positivity rate was 5.79 per cent.
State Immunisation Officer Dr Dimong Padung said that a total of 3,41,830 people have been vaccinated to date.
In view of the spurt in coronavirus cases, the state government has extended lockdown in seven districts till June 7.
