SBI Life Insurance, one of the most trusted private insurers in India, organized one of the largest congregation of Life Mitras (Life Insurance agents) at Adlux Convention Centre in Kochi, wherein around 2700 Life Mitras assembled for the company’s insurance mega meet. The congregation was organized to facilitate a skill enhancement platform for Life Mitras with a focus on providing need-based insurance solutions to consumers in the region.
The meet deliberated on the opportunities and challenges faced and discussions around various technological advancements witnessed by the Life insurance sector. The seminar also comprised of motivational speeches by eminent personalities like Vineeth Sreenivasan, renowned musician, actor, director and popular music composer Gopi Sundar boosting the confidence of the practitioners.
M Anand, President-Zone II, SBI Life along with Deepak Nair, EVP & Chief of Retail Agency, SBI Life graced the occasion in presence of Santosh Chacko, Regional Director – Kerala region, SBI Life. The convention featured invaluable sessions delivered by company leaders, who offered professional advice along with innovative ideas, realistic solutions.

According to the data from IRDAI Handbook on Indian Insurance Statistics, 2016-17, India had about 328 million life insurance policies in 2017. Assuming each policy corresponds to a unique citizen, this accounts for 25% of the population having life insurance cover, leaving 75%–or 988 million Indians–without a life cover.
SBI Life through such congregations hope to reach the rest 75% population through their skilled Life Mitras in educating them on the importance of life insurance and long term financial security.
