THANE:
A 23-year-old man, who was in a relationship with a woman, has been brutally killed allegedly by her relatives, who dumped his body in bushes in Murbad town of Thane district in Maharashtra, police said Friday.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (Murbad) Rajendra More gave the name of the victim as Kalpesh Chowdhari, a resident of Kakadpada in Murbad taluka. Two of the three accused were arrested Friday, the police said.
According to the police, the victim was in love with the sister-in-law of one of the arrested accused, Nandu Mhadse, who resided in the same village, for the last two years. The woman lived in Ambernath, they said.
The love affair was not liked by Mhadse and his brother-in-law, the police said. Over the last few months, the issue had led to frequent fights between Chowdhari and the woman’s relatives, they said.
Chowdhari went missing early this month and his body, in a highly decomposed state and eaten by animals, was found in the bushes behind a farmhouse on the Murbad-Mhasa Road Thursday, the police said.
Investigation revealed three relatives of the woman had brutally thrashed Chowdhari, leading to his death, and later dumped his body, they said.
