THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
20th Edition of Animation Masters Summit (AMS) by Toonz Media Group commences in Park Centre, Technopark Campus. AMS 2019 was inaugurated by Jeremy Pilmore Bedford, Deputy High Commissioner of British High Commission. Speaking at the occasion Jeremy Pilmore said that ‘Animation Industry has become one of the lucrative industries in India with a steady growth and upcoming fresh talents’.
AMS was initiated in 1999 as the first ever animation event in India and this year’s theme of AMS is Connecting Content: Seeing the Big Picture. On the inaugural day of AMS 2019, Animation Guru and Film Designer, Prof. Raman Lal Mistry was honoured with the ‘Legend of Animation’ title by P Jayakumar, CEO of Toonz Media Group and Anu Sikka, Head of Content at VIACOM 18 was felicitated with Jury Award for her outstanding contribution to Indian Animation.
Day one of AMS 2019 witnessed some engaging sessions by Christian Schneider; CEO of Gummybear International Inc., Uttam Pal Singh; Head Discovery Kids and Mayur Puri; Indian Screenwriter, Lyricist, Actor and Film-maker. Christian Schneider spoke about the creation and evolvement of the popular animated series Gummybear. Uttam Pal Singh talked about connecting the creator and audience and the role of broadcaster in the creation of kids entertainment content. Mayur Puri explained about localising content without losing the essence of the dialogues. Ashish Kulkarni, Chairman of FICCI for Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics Forum, Mohit Soni, COO of Media & Entertainment Skills Council (MESC) and Shekar Rohira, Country Head M & E, Auto Desk also participated in the inaugural ceremony.
