AIZAWL:
The COVID-19 tally in Mizoram rose to 967 on Wednesday as 14 more people tested positive for the infection, a statement issued by the state”s Information and Public Relations Department said.
Six cases were reported from Aizawl district, two from Serchhip district and three each from Kolasib and Mamit districts, it said. Of the 14, a BSF jawan and a volunteer of local level task force had no recent travel history. The rest had returned to the northeastern state from West Bengal Goa, Assam and Karnataka, the statement said.
The number of active cases in the state stands at 503 while 464 people have already recovered, according to the Health Department. A total of 35,214 samples have been tested, according to a bulletin issued by the Health Department on Tuesday.
