KOCHI:
A one day workshop on ‘Rights of Women and Children in Educational Institutions’ was organised by Centre for Women and Family studies (CWFS), NUALS in association with Vidyodaya School, Thevakkal.
The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Rose Varghese, Vice Chancellor, NUALS, Kochi. The programme was presided over by Dr. P. Sreekumar, Executive Trustee, Vidyodaya School.
The first session was by Lida Jacob, on the topic ‘Duties of Educational Institutions and Code of Professional Ethics of School teachers.’ The following resource persons including Dr Sonia K. Das, Asst. Prof. Government Law College, Thrissur, Dr. Mary Venus Joseph, Dean and Former Vice Principal, Rajagiri School of Social Sciences , Dr. Mini.S., Associate Professor, NUALS, Dr. P.S Seema, Director, School of Legal Studies, CUSAT spoke at the workshop.
A short film by the students of NUALS titled ‘Conscience’ was also screened during the workshop. The programme was an initiative by Dr. Sheeba S. Dhar, Director CWFS, NUALS and Dr. Anil R. Nair, Associate Professor NUALS.ate Professor NUALS.
