A V Ramana, Deputy Chairman, Cochin Port Trust has been appointed as Chairman, New Mangalore Port Trust by Ministry of Shipping, Govt. of India, with immediate effect.
A. V. Ramana was Chairman (i/c), Cochin Port Trust during 08/08/2016 to 26/03/2017 and 08/06/2018 to 03/10/2018. He is a ME (Mechanical) from BITS Pilani. Prior to joining Cochin Port Trust as Deputy Chairman, A. V. Ramana was Chief Mechanical and Electrical Engineer, Kolkata Port Trust and was instrumental in facilitating integrated container operations through OOM (Own Operate and Maintain) model.
He also worked as Chief Administrative Officer, Indian Ports Association and Deputy Director, Indian Maritime University. Having 26 years experience in Ports sector, he was associated with Sethusamudram Public Hearing Committee, Member of the Chennai based technical committee regarding infrastructural issues related to Indian Maritime University (IMU) and also associated with preparation of the statute for IMU.
