THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Alok Deepak V, an eighth standard student of Bishop Speechly Vidya Peeth, Kottayam has won the first prize in the cartoon contest on the theme ‘Tobacco Free Schools, Colleges and Homes”. The second prize goes to Shayak Ghosh, Standard 10, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kottayam. 
The first prize carries a cash prize of Rs 2,500 and the second prize winner will take home a cash award of Rs 1,500.
A five-member jury selected the winners. The judges were, Dr. Tiny Nair, Head, Dept of Cardiology, PRS Hospital; Sunnykutty Abraham, Senior Journalist; and S Radhakrishnan, Senior Journalist, TK Sujith, Asst. Editor, Kerala Kaumudi and K Unnikrishnan, Chief Sub Editor, Mathrubhumi.
Anjaly Pradheep K, a twelfth standard student of Holy Cross CBSE English Medium, Thrissur has won the prize for the “Most Popular Cartoon” after her entry won the maximum Facebook likes. A screening committee including senior journalists vetted all the entries and the chosen cartoons were made available in the Facebook page of Tobacco Free Kerala https://www.facebook.com/Tobacco-Free-Kerala

In recognition of the good and meaningful contribution by the students, certificates of appreciation will be given away to all participants.
