Energy security, economic growth and environment protection are the national policy drivers of any country. The increased production and consumption in energy sector lead to high levels of pollution and eventually climate change with possible disastrous consequences. At the same time, the energy needs to be made available at an acceptable cost in order to avoid negative impacts on economic growth. Hence it is time to address the important aspects of energy and environment with a holistic approach. Research on materials is expected to play a prominent role in the development of sustainable technologies for energy conversion, storage and savings. The International conference offers a common platform to share and discuss the emerging trends in the fields.
