KOCHI:
As a part of the fortnight long cleanliness drive “Swatchtha Pakhwada”, a Water Testing facility is commissioned at Ernakulam Railway Health Unit on 28th August 2017. This will enable quick testing of water for the presence of E-Coli bacteria in railway stations and premises. This facility will enable the railways in getting and testing more samples and focus attention on improving the quality of water. Earlier the water were taken and sent to outside private labs causing delay in results and corrective action.
Additional Divisional Railway Manager K S Jain inaugurated the facility in the presence of Harikrishnan R, Area Manager- Ernakulam and Kunju Kunjamma George, Additional Chief Medical Superindant/ Railway Health Unit Ernakulam. This is a significant step towards effectively providing clean and safe water in the division.
