The seventh Kerala Bala Krishi Sastra Congress will be organised at the Jawahar Balabhavan in the city on January 10 and 11. The central theme of the Bala Krishi Sastra Congress will be “Organic Kerala, Healthy Kerala”.

Agri Friends, the seventh edition of the Kerala Bala Krishi Sastra Congress will be inaugurated on January 10 by Prof C Raveendranath, Minister for Education, while Shailaja Teacher, Minister for Health, will inaugurate the Krishi Arts Festival and Expo. K Muraleedharan, MLA, will preside.

The Seventh Kerala Bala Krishi Sastra Congress will ensure that the students who participate will not be overburdened by the usual evaluation procedures and will open up the venue for the active participation of children of farmers, and all those who love agriculture. This has made the Kerala Bala Krishi Sastra Congress a one of its kind event in India, Dr C K Peethamabaran, Chairman, Kerala Bala Krishi Sastra Congress, told mediapersons here today. The best child agri-scientist who excels in his / her paper presentation, experiment and findings would be selected for a cash prize of Rs 11,111 and citation, at the Congress, he added.
The best five studies conducted by the student participants would be selected at the Seventh Kerala Bala Krishi Sastra Congress, and the students as well as their teacher-guides would be honoured at the event. The unique event would prove to be a platform for students to display their studies and findings before a number of renowned agri scientists and agriculture experts, Dr Peethambaran said.
