It was a gala evening of delectable cuisine, dance, foot stomping music and the sounds of laughter and happy camaraderie as the ninth edition of Semana da Cultura Indo Portuguesa (Goa) celebrated one of the key highlight of the festivities ‘Noite de Gastronomia e Musica’ (An Evening of Indo Portuguese cuisine and Music) at Bay 15, Dona Paula.
The evening included a sumptuous selection of traditional Portuguese, Indian and fusion cuisine. The evening witnessed a selection of traditional Indo Portuguese food crafted by Chef Rahul Gomes Pereira and Chef Kapil Muchandi to offer the people of Goa an extraordinary culinary experience.
The cultural evening witnessed Goan musicians perform through the evening while guests enjoyed some lip smacking Portuguese delicacies. Some of the traditional Portuguese dishes which were prepared include Pastéis de bacalhau, Amêijoas à bulhão Pato and Chouriço Berliners and the delicious Pasteis de Nata and a salad bar with a selection of fresh salads and many more mouthwatering delicacies.
To set the ambience, an extraordinary line-up of musicians performed together to offer an enjoyable musical experience. These included Efigenia, Omar, Selwyn and the Valentinos. A special fusion dance was also part of the entertainment for the evening. The event was supported by Heineken, Bay 15, Nostalgia and may other supporters who had come together to make this event happen.
The ninth edition of the Semana da Cultura Indo Portuguesa (Goa) which commenced in September 2017 saw a celebration of Indian and Portuguese culture including art, cinema, music, cuisine, literature and more. The event is an effort to celebrate and appreciate the rich cultural flavours of the two nations.
