

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
The Department of Tourism has accorded Administrative Sanction for a Rs 32.50 lakh project for interior furnishing of the proposed passenger lounge at the International Cruise Terminal in Kochi.
The Detailed Project Report (DPR) in this regard was submitted by the Deputy Director of Tourism, Ernakulam.
“Cruise tourism has been identified as a highly promising segment by Kerala Tourism, especially by leveraging the inherent potential of Kochi. We are planning to develop the International Cruise Terminal in Kochi as a facility that boasts of world class features,” Tourism Minister PA Mohamed Riyas said.
The project seeks to provide state-of-the-art furnishings at the lounge of the International Cruise Terminal such as furniture, including sofa sets and teapoy, magazine stands, planter boxes, art works like mural paintings, hanging lights, internet connection, a 65” LED TV set with stabilizer and provision for drinking water.
