KOCHI:
Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (Autonomous), Kalamassery and Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance collaboration between both organizations.
In this regard, a ceremony was held at Principal’s office at Kalamassery in which Principal Dr Binoy Joseph, Head-Professional Studies, CA Ajay Lunawat, Asst Prof Sanjeev Singh, Asst Prof Jesse Alexander, ACCA Regional Manager Saravana Kumar, and ACCA Consultant Althea Lee were present. On the basis of improvements in the curriculum ACCA will also look forward to offer exemptions to the various relevant programmes of the college.
ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), UK, is a global body of professional accountants and is recognized as the world’s largest and influential accountants association having more than 188,000 fully qualified members and 480,000 students worldwide. School of Commerce at RCSS and ACCA will work closely to gain benefit from ACCA’s research & Insights, scholarships offerings, career advisory services, faculty development initiatives and networking forums. Dr Binoy Joseph said that both faculty members and students will get benefit from ACCA Experience. Saravana said that ACCA would be working with RCSS to further enhance the accountancy and finance curriculum to ensure it meets the needs of a globalised and challenging marketplace. The admission from academic year 2017 onwards shall have a dedicated batch for ACCA aspirants.
