  • Qburst Lifts Technopark Premier League Trophy

    THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
    Qburst lifted Technopark Premier League (TPL) trophy for men by beating H & R block by five wickets in a pulsating final while Infosys beat UST Global by 31 runs to become champions in the women’s tournament here last evening.

    Former minister and Kazhakkootam MLA Kadakampally Surendran, Indian women’s cricket team player Asha Shobhana, and former Kerala Ranji Team captain Sony Cheruvathur attended the closing ceremony of the six-month-long tournament, organized by Technopark employees welfare forum, Prathidhwani.

    Vishal Viswanathan of Qburst was adjudged the player of the match in men’s final.

    Arun Raj (H&R Block) was awarded the Best Batter of the men’s tournament while Yakhoob P(Quest Global) won the best bowler of the tournament award. Arun Raj (H&R Block) won the most valuable player of the men’s tournament.

    Deepa Yasodharan (Infosys) was adjudged the player of the match inTechnopark Women Cricket League (TWCL).

    Deepa Yasodharan was also awarded the best batter of the tournament and most valuable player of the TWCL while Vrinda Vineeth of H&R Block won the best bowler award.

    Starting from December 2024, in all 164 teams competed in the men’s section of TPL while 20 teams competed in the women’s tournament.

    “TPL is a cricket tournament which can be a model to the whole nation itself considering the fact that events like this will save our youth from drug abuse and make them focus on sports and other cultural activities,” Shri Kadakampally Surendran said.

    Prathidhwani’s efforts towards the welfare and cultural activities of Technopark employees are commendable, he added.

    “It is not an easy thing to organize 20 women’s teams for a cricket tournament, and hats off to the organisers for achieving that,” said Asha Shobhana.The ground and facilities provided by Technopark were also of high standards, she added.

    Tournaments like this will surely relieve the IT employees from work stress and make them more active in their profession, said Sony Cheruvathoor.

    Shri Abhilash D.S, Assistant General Manager (Admin & IR) and other Technopark officials along with representatives of Prathidhwani including Secretary Vineeth Chandran, President Vishnu Rajendran, State Convenor Rajeev Krishnan, Sports Convenor Rajith V Pand Tournament Joint Convenor Nijin C attended the closing ceremony.

    Representatives of TPL sponsors including Shri Musafar Ahmed, Director of Favorite Homes, Shri Zafer AM of Sanchi bags, Shri Kiran from Yoode and women’s league convener Gopika Prasad were also present.
