BANGALORE:
PropTech start-up, Design & Construct has successfully completed their maiden project in record four months, way ahead of the scheduled time, despite the challenges faced due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the prolonged lockdowns.
The residential project is located in Kanakapura in Bangalore, totalling 1250 sq. ft. The biggest concern which the start-up faced in executing the project was the distance from Bangalore town, transportation of materials and arranging local labour during the lockdown.
“I thank my team for their effort and timely completion of the project despite many challenges faced in the recent months. The client’s budget was very tight and we met him 3-4 times to understand the requirements. We minimised our margins to accommodate his concerns and did local purchases to save on transportation cost and offered him cost effective materials,” explains Priyadarshi Mishra founder Design and Construct on the odds faced by the team while executing the project.
” My dream home got ready in record time of 3.5 months. The team at Design & Construct adhered to the brief and gave a beautiful finish to my house,” says Girish Kumar K, proud home owner
“Another issue we had to deal with was that his land was just opposite to the village temple and there was stiff resistance from locals to build the house. My team went beyond their work boundaries and convinced the villagers to let us construct the house,” adds Mishra.
Since this project was in a remote location, the firm installed CCTV surveillance to see the progress and maintained constant communication with the client through WhatsApp groups.
The company will soon be a launching an app which has been designed in-house for more efficient back-end and front-end coordination.
Priyadarshi Mishra with over 16 years in Banking, Real Estate and Construction started Design And Construct, a service where an aspiring home owner can access a solution which will begin with design and end in construction and handing over of a completed building. Since time lines are vital in execution to avoid cost overruns arising from delays, the company has strict time frames that are adhered to.
“The time frame for completion of the project is clearly stipulated and this comes with quality at every stage of construction to ensure there are no quality issues facing the customer after handover of the project,” avers Mishra.
The Company is currently operating in Bengaluru and Hyderabad and proposes to soon expand to smaller cities and towns and has 35 under construction projects across Bangalore and Hyderabad, for which the company is looking for funding.
