SHARJAH:
A Thrissur native from Arimpur, who had paid lakhs of rupees to an agent and got a housemaid visa and came to Sharjah for a private job, worked for two years and later started working illegally without getting a visa as she could not pay the total of 9000 dirhams (2.20 lakh Indian rupees) to the Arab and the agent to get a visa. In the meantime, a complaint was filed with the Immigration Department that Bindu had run away from the Arab.
When she went to the supermarket to buy household items, Sharjah Police’s special surveillance team and the Sharjah Police arrested Bindu and subjected her to legal action. Following the family’s complaint that Bindu was missing, Manalur MLA Murali Perunelli intervened in the matter and sought help from Yab Legal Services CEO Salam Pappinissery.
He then contacted the Sharjah Police Prison Department through legal means and within two days, an outpass was prepared, along with a flight ticket, provided by Yab Legal Services, and took steps to send him home on an Air India Express flight.
