  • KSUM’s IEDC Summit 2025 to be Held in Kasargod on Dec 22

    KASARGOD:
    Kasargod is all set to host IEDC Summit 2025, one of Asia’s largest student events to promote youth entrepreneurship, organised by Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM).

    A flagship programme of KSUM, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centres (IEDCs) promote innovation and entrepreneurship among the student and academic fraternity across the state.

    The upcoming event, to be held at LBS College of Engineering on December 22, is conceived as a platform for showcasing students’ innovative ideas and turn their concepts into viable startups.

    The IEDC Summit will provide an opportunity for academic institutions and young innovators to connect with industry professionals and experts.

    The upcoming edition aims to increase student participation in entrepreneurship, technological innovation, and social transformation by nurturing creative thinking and entrepreneurial perspectives among the youth, shaping the entrepreneurial future of Kerala, KSUM CEO Shri Anoop Ambika said.

    More than 10,000 students and 1,000 faculty members from over 550 educational institutions across the state are expected to attend the event. This mega convergence will see the active involvement of various IEDC centres under KSUM, as well as startup founders, researchers, industry experts and innovation leaders.

    The event will also feature a host of competitions, workshops and interactive sessions will be held for students across the fields of technology, medicine, business, arts and literature, aiming to inspire young minds from all walks of life.

    Ahead of the event, a meeting chaired by District Collector Dr K. Inbasekaran IAS was held at the Central Plantation Crops Research Institute (CPCRI), Kasargod, to take stock of the arrangements.

    Dr Inbasekaran , who launched the IEDC Summit 2025 website, said the summit is going to be as a historic event for Kasargod, which will inspire the area’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and pave the way for students to turn their innovative ideas into successful ventures.

    Dr M Abdul Rahman, Director of the LBS Center for Science and Technology, said the event will give a new direction to innovations and entrepreneurships while strengthening the entrepreneurial sector by involving students from schools and colleges alike.

    CPCRI Director K Balachandra Hebbar emphasised that events like IEDC summt will help building an entrepreneurial mindset of the youth and strengthen the foundation of India’s startup ecosystem.

    KSUM is the nodal agency of the Kerala Government for entrepreneurship development and incubation activities in the state.
