The additional charge for Khandelwal comes in the wake of Dr. M Ayyappan retiring last month as CMD of HLL, a ‘mini Ratna’ PSU of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare with a diverse portfolio of products like contraceptives, pharmaceuticals and personal hygiene and hospital products, besides diagnostic services. Khandelwal, who joined HLL as Director (Finance) in May 2009, provides leadership to the company’s Corporate Finance division.
Prior to joining HLL, he was Director (Finance) at Hindustan Insecticides Ltd., In his chequered career, he also spent 22 years in SAIL, heading its shares department and productively contributing to the company’s various segments like Materials Management, Techno-economics, Finance, Board & Company Affairs. He left SAIL as Senior Deputy Director (Finance) in charge of Project Finance & JV Group.
A graduate in chemistry with MBA in Finance from BIT Mesra (Ranchi), Mr. Khandelwal is also the board member of Hindustan Latex Family Planning Promotion Trust (HLFPPT), a trust promoted by HLL and HLL Biotech Ltd. (a subsidiary of HLL).
He holds the professional qualifications of AICWA, ACS (Associate Company Secretary) and Bachelor in Law LLB. He is a member of Institute of Cost Accountants of India and Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
Recognising his robust contribution as a professional in Cost & Management Accountancy, he was bestowed upon the award for the “Outstanding contribution in profession” by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) in 2012.
Currently, the HLL group consists of seven entities: parent company HLL Lifecare Ltd, HLL Biotech Ltd. (HBL), HLL Infra Tech Services Ltd (HITES), LifeSpring Hospitals, Goa Antibiotics and Pharmaceuticals Limited (GAPL), Hindustan Latex Family Planning Promotion Trust (HLFPPT) and HLL Management Academy (HMA).
