IT Minister Visits Technopark; Meets Top Officials

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Minister for IT, Startup and Industries K Kunhalikutty, who has played a key leadership role in the development and expansion of Kerala’s IT sector, today visited Technopark, India’s first IT park, billed as the largest and greenest.

The visit comes shortly after his return as Minister for IT, Startup and Industries for the Government of Kerala. During the visit, he met with CEOs of IT parks and top officials from leading government IT institutions to better understand the current state of the state’s IT ecosystem.

Seeram Sambasiva Rao, Special Secretary, Department of Electronics & IT, Govt. of Kerala, and Sandip Kumar, CEO of Technopark, welcomed the Minister during his maiden visit to the Park.

During the interaction, Seeram Sambasiva gave the Minister a detailed presentation on ‘Kerala Tech Sector: Context and Goals’.

In his presentation, Seeram Sambasiva outlined the goals and challenges in the IT sector and highlighted pipeline projects, future proposals, startups, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

Kunhalikutty also sought suggestions and proposals from officials of the IT Parks and premier IT/ITes government institutions during the interaction.

The officials who participated in the meeting included Susanth Kurunthil, CEO of Infopark Kochi and Cyberpark Kozhikode; Anoop Ambika, CEO, Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM); Dr Saji Gopinath, Vice Chancellor, Digital University Kerala (DUK); Dr Santhosh Babu, MD, KSITIL and K-FON; Dr Alex P James, Director, IIITM-K and Professor-in-Charge, Maker Village; Dr Sunil TT, Director of ICFOSS and C-DIT; and Gayathri K, Chief Finance Officer, KSPACE.

Lead IT Strategists of the Government of Kerala, Dr Anoopa Narayanan, Sreenath Njaneswar, Akshay Kannan, and Prakash Matthew, were also present.
