Indian Economy is undergoing a major transition phase due to structural changes in the Financial Eco-system in our country. De-monitisation and GST are two major reforms which people are well aware about. However, there have been many more regulatory changes happening within the financial and banking industry since last few years. These changes are inline with the major steps taken by the developed nations post 2008 financial crisis to avoid repetition of any such mishaps in the world of finance. Reforms in the Indian Financial eco-system are well appreciated by all stakeholders within the country and outside too.
Actual benefits of these structural reforms would be visible in most of the industries within 6 months to one year. Stocks and other investment instruments would reflect these positive impacts appropriately in the days to come. As the inflation comes under control and other macro parameters becomes conducive, the cost of funding in the country is likely to reduce in the near future. This would have an impact on small savings and other investment instruments with fixed returns.
Dwindling returns from the fixed return instruments such as bank deposits, PPF etc. would make every citizen think about alternative options for achieving a meaningful return on their investments. The inflows into the Mutual Fund Schemes have gone up substantially in the recent months crossing monthly inflows of Rs. 4000 crores. The total assets under management of domestic mutual funds have reached an unbelievable sum of Rs. 20 Lac crores.
However the participation of Investors from Kerala through mutual fund route is not impressive. It is hardly 1% (around Rs.19,300 Cr.) of the total assets collected and managed by the Mutual Fund Industry. Keeping the high literacy level and high banking penetration in Kerala, the scope for mutual fund penetration is very high. An interesting aspect of Rs.19,300crore of Keralite Investors under the Mutual Fund Industry is, 56% of this money is in Equity oriented Schemes and 44% in Debt and other instruments. The Equity portion of
investors through mutual funds from other states such as, Maharashtra is 29%, Karnataka is 37% and Tamil Nadu is 38% , Gujarat is 45%. This underlines the fact that Keralite Investors are aware about the real potential of Equity, when it comes to aggressive growth investment options.
Better awareness about the various investment options under mutual funds is what is required in Kerala now. Impetus Wealth Management would walk extra miles in making Keralite Investors aware about the opportunities available under highly efficient and transparent Indian Capital Market.
It would be wrong to perceive Capital Market as place to get supernatural profits or returns on continues basis. The bull rally we are witnessing now has come after a dull period. However, prudent investments would certainly help investors to make meaningful ‘Real Returns’ from Indian Capital Market as our economy is on a long growth-trajectory.
Today, the investors are fully aware about the fact that investments in Real Estate, Gold and other investments of fixed return nature would not even beat the inflation. Therefore, Capital Market is a serious option they need to explore, understand and make good use, for better return on their investments. We at Impetus Wealth Management welcome each one of you to the world of Indian Capital Market. We will assist you in understanding this magnificent ocean of wealth with limitless opportunities hidden beneath.
