GOA:
After mixed results in the first two matches, FC Goa return to Goa to take on a rampant Bengaluru FC in their first match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda. Placed fourth on the table after a win against Chennaiyin FC and then an unlucky loss against Mumbai City FC, the Gaurs will be looking to take advantage of home conditions to propel themselves further up the table.
Captain Laxmikant Kattimani will want to make amends for his error in the previous match and will be looking forward to keeping a clean sheet against the best attack in the league so far. Seriton Fernandes has impressed at right back in the two games he’s played while Narayan Das looks set to start at left back. The central defensive pairing will be crucial for the Gaurs with Chinglensana Singh, Ali Mohammed and Bruno Pinheiro all vying for the two positions. The midfield pivot of Edu Bedia and Ahmed Jahouh are crucial to the Gaurs’ chances and they will most likely start against the Blues. Manuel Lanzarote has been excellent for Goa, creating chances at will. He will be flanked by Goan wingers Brandon Fernandes who missed the previous game through injury and Mandar Rao Dessai. Manuel Arana started in place of Brandon in Mumbai and scored the Gaurs’ only goal in the contest. He will be another option for the coach. Ferran Corominas had a goal incorrectly ruled out offside and he will want to change that against Bengaluru FC. He looks to be a certain started as he gives the team a unique dynamic with his incredible technical ability.
Having scored six goals and conceded only once in 180 minutes, Bengaluru will be up for the challenge while the Gaurs will want to reverse their fortunes and get back to winning ways at Fortress Fatorda. This looks to be an end to end game with plenty of goals likely to be scored.
