First lessons of gender equality should start from home, said Dr. V. Meera, Registrar, CUSAT. She was inaugurating the International Women’s Day Celebrations at CUSAT jointly organized by CUAST Women’s Welfare Organization and Women’s Studies Centre.
“The prime feature of femininity is the equal ability to lead the family accurately and excel in governance”, she added. The change in the taste of new generation audience of cinema has rejected the concept of noble heroine and that the female singers should sing with quill voice, said Reshmi Satheesh, well-known playback singer and actor who was the guest at the function.
Tresa Divya, Assistant Professor, U.C. College, Aluva, also addressed the audience as guest of honour. Women’s Study Centre Director Dr K. Ajitha, and Aisha Sumi spoke at the function.
