ConceptOwl, a newly launched Trivandrum-based educational startup, is combining innovative, state-of-the-art technology with deeper learning to change how students prepare for all India medical and engineering examinations. ConceptOwl offers full year classroom programmes for classes 9, 10, Plus 2, and repeater students. The preparations focus on clearing doubts in classrooms and online, regularly monitoring the performances and progress of students, so that students falling behind are given extra personalised attention. The classes use demos, experiments and videos to illustrate concepts and make learning fun.
Former Kerala cadre IPS officer Rajan Singh launched ConceptOwl as a joint venture with the pan India entrance coaching group, Bansal Classes (based in Kota, Rajasthan), and his own MindSquared Learning, and has received Rs 3.5 crore in start-up investment from SunTec, a leading technology company in Kerala.
Over 30 years, Bansal has produced five first rank holders in the IIT entrance exams and over 20,000 IITians.
Apart from this, the company is anticipating a Rs 35 crore capital investment soon, establishing its status as a premier science education company in the country.
“In addition to IITJEE/NEET coaching, we are also offering
a specially designed program called ‘Joy of Learning’, which builds deep concepts in fun and exciting formats,” said Singh, who left the IPS to pursue further studies and a career in strategy consulting in the US. “Students will have the opportunity to regularly interact with IITians, prominent doctors, scientists and entrepreneurs. They will learn not just about exam preparation, but how to think big.”
ConceptOwl aims to grow into India’s top education company, encouraging in students a temper for scientific research.
