KOCHI:
Muthoot Capital, a part of the Muthoot Pappachan Group (MPG) in association with Muthoot Pappachan Foundation, the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of the Group has partnered with Lisie Hospital, Kochi for providing financial support to children from economically weak background for performing heart surgeries.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed by the Muthoot Capital and Lisie Hospital on November 14th (Children’s Day), to offer financial support for the open heart surgeries of children from financially weak background.
Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) in children is the most common birth defect, affecting 1 in 100 children. It is estimated that over 200,000 children in India are born with heart diseases every year and less than 5% of them get optimal care on time. Most of these children succumb to the disease without attaining the first year. A quarter of children with CHD require urgent life-saving surgery within a few hours after birth and most others require treatment in the early years of their life. Timely diagnosis and intervention can save the lives of these children and this project will help these children lead a better life when cured of the disease.
Furthering the Health focus of its HEEL Vision (Health, Education, Environment, & Livelihood), this year, the Group is focusing on children with heart diseases, who belong to economically weaker section of the society. MPG in association with Children’s Heart Centre, Lisie Heart Institute will arrange screening camps across the country, for identification of
children suffering from congenital heart ailments. The deserving children will get operated in Lisie Hospital, Kochi, through financial support from Muthoot Capital Services Limited as part of the mission.
The Group is also planning to conduct various programmes to spread awareness about congenital heart disease, among the population. In this connection the first heart disease screening camp is being organized at Thaluk Head Quarters Hospital, Ponnani Thaluk, MalappuramDist. on 2 nd December 2017. The parents who wish to avail financial assistance
for their children’s operation may contact us on +91 9539 41 8686 (Baiju Joseph), 0484 6619 600 or any of the MuthootFincorp branches across the state of Kerala.
