Cash Award Presented to P.U.Chitra

KOCHI:
Coir Board Recreation Club at Kochi and Kalavoor honoured P.U.Chithra, the 2017 Asian Athletic Championship Gold Medal Winner on the occasion of the Onam Celebrations of the Coir Board Recreation Club on Thursday, the 31st August, 2017 at Coir House, M.G.Road, Kochi-16.
C.P. Radhakrishnan, Ex. M.P, Chairman, Coir Board handed over a Cash Award of Rs.1 lakh to Chitra for her valuable contribution to our Country in Sports. D P S Negi, IES, Financial Advisor, Minister of MSME and Secretary-in-Charge of Coir Board, P.R.Ajithkumar, Director (Mktg.) and M.K.Vasanthiyamma, Working President of Coir Board Recreation Club were present on the occasion.
Earlier Chairman, Coir Board lighted the traditional Nilavilakku to begin the Onam Celebrations in Coir Board Head Office. Athappookkalam, Thiruvathira, Ganamela etc. were arranged by the club members as part of the Onam Celebrations. Prizes were distributed to the winners of various cultural and sports events conducted in connection with Onam Celebration by P.U.Chitra.
