DEHRADUN:
The 10th World Ayurveda Congress (WAC 2024) and Arogya Expo concluded here today with Uttarakhand Governor Lt.Gen (Retd) Gurmit Singh terming it a “transformative event” that has imparted a big thrust to the promotion of Ayurveda for the benefit of the entire humanity.
Delivering the valedictory address to the four-day event, Gurmit Singh said this conclave emphasised the need to leverage new technologies like Artificial Intelligence in passing this timeless knowledge to the entire world with necessary value-additions.
“ Ayurveda is one sector that unites the entire world, as envisioned by our sages in the ancient time. You have done a great service through this path-breaking initiative to promote this holistic healthcare system for the benefit of the entire world,” the Governor said, congratulating the World Ayurveda Foundation (WAF) and the Government of Uttarakhand for making WAC 2024 a huge success.
Noting that over 4000 research papers had been presented in the last four days is a spectacular record in itself, he said the deliberations at WAC 2024 has dismantled the misconception regarding Ayurveda that it is not thoroughly evidence-based.
“You have done a great service to the humanity through this path-breaking Congress. But you need to take it to the next level by documenting the proceedings for the benefit of the whole world,” the Governor said.
He said it is also vitally important to strengthen networking of Ayurveda community and share knowledge.
The event has also been a huge success as it had record 3.5 lakh footfall and the volume of business that had been transacted in the B2B segment, thereby expanding the global outreach of Ayurveda.
The meet also made a mark in the turnout of foreign delegates and the International Delegates Assembly resolving to promote Ayurveda the world over, he said.
The event also helped inspire and promote innovation-based youth enterprise in Ayurveda sector as a highly promising field.
Congratulating the Uttarakhand Government for its initiatives in promoting Ayurveda, the governor said the state has great potential to become a global hub of Ayurveda research and wellness tourism.
The Governor also visited the Arogya Expo at the event.
