Manohar Parrikar, Chief Minister of Goa inaugurated the Joint Staff Development Programme organized by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry in association with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung at The Zuri White Sands, Goa.
Ten well known NGOs and their grass root level workers spread all over the regions of the country are participating in the present JSDP. The theme NGOs – Staying Ahead and Staying Relevant is in line with the vision of our Prime Minister for spreading digitization to help cashless transactions and e-banking in rural India for NGOs to be relevant. Over the next two days workshops focused on Rural Entrepreneurship, Digitalisation and E-Commerce will be held for the staff members of JSDP.
Said Parrikar “for NGOs to stay ahead they have to be relevant. He also shared that, NGOs have immense role in bringing about social change and development and this change is being experienced from different parts of the country”.
V G Patel, Founder Director while delivering his keynote address emphasized that with enhanced technology NGOs can connect with people in new ways to solve problems.
Gopal Jiwarjka, President, PHD Chamber while welcoming the Chief Minister said “by 2020, about 315 million Indians living in rural areas will be connected to the Internet, compared to around 120 million at present” and Peter Rimmele, Resident Representative KAS gave the welcome remarks, CM Krishna, Advisor KAS gave the overview on JSDP while Saurabh Sanyal, Secretary General PHD Chamber, presented the vote of thanks.
